Biography :

French photographer.
Lives and works in Paris.

Graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Tours in 1998, Letizia Le Fur was initially trained as a painter. Encouraged by the artist and professor Valérie Belin, she soon redirected her aesthetic quest toward photography.

Her work, situated between reality and fiction, explores the many representations of beauty. Grounded in her knowledge of art history, she has developed a mastery of light and an approach to color reminiscent of painting. Through this, she transcends reality and opens up worlds where dream and fantasy converge. Her pursuit of beauty is never mere ornamentation: it is an ethical and poetic stance. By addressing political, ecological, and social issues through the prism of beauty, she affirms beauty and joy as acts of resistance against the world’s turmoil.

Winner of the Paris Je t’aime x Photodays Award (2023–24), the BnF Grande Commande (2022), the Leica/Alpine Award (2019), and the MEP Fenêtres ouvertes Award (2020), she has also been invited as artist-in-residence by the Planches Contact Festival in Deauville (2020), the Incadaqués Festival (2021), and the Vichy Portrait(s) Festival (2023). She was nominated for the Prix Niépce in 2022.

Her work has been exhibited in both solo and group shows and featured in numerous publications. Her books are published by Rue du Bouquet, Filigranes, and RVB Books.

Alongside her artistic practice, Letizia Le Fur has collaborated for over twenty years with major brands (Van Cleef & Arpels, Air France, Belmond, Barrière, Ruinart, Perrier-Jouët, Château Canon, …) and with the press (AD, The New York Times, Grazia, Voyageurs du Monde, Les Échos…).

She is a Leica ambassador since 2019.
